Hi, I'm Mitziel!

Hi, thanks for visiting my profile, I'm Mitzi. I'm originally from Wisconsin. I've been a caregiver for five years and have worked in a variety of settings including home care, assisted living and hospitals. I speak Spanish (my family is from Puerto Rico), and English fluently. I've worked with Alzheimer's, dementia, stroke patients, heart attack recovery, seizure patients among others. I take pride in helping others. Just knowing I'm helping someone or making a difference in one's life. I'm funny, easy going and a very hard worker. My long term goal is to become a psychiatrist. Thanks for reading my profile!

My top 3 skills as a caregiver are:
  • Compassion
  • Dependable
  • Good at talking with seniors
  • Great caregiving technical knowledge
  • Great sense of humor
  • Highly empathetic
  • Lots of caregiving experience
  • Patience

I became a caregiver because:

I became a caregiver because I know that it gives me a satisfaction to be able to help someone whom aren't able to help themselves anymore. It makes me feel like I have a purpose in life to help others.

Outside of work, my hobbies and interests include:

My proudest moment as a caregiver has been:
My most proudest moment when I was first introduce to a client and they told me she was a 2 person assist and wasn't able to stand or walk. My first time working with her I was able to make her a 1 person assist in a day and then was able to help her walk n stand with in a week with only a gaitbelt and walker. Being able to accomplish this just proved to myself that im here to help bring back the confidence that sometimes people lack in themselves to try and continue to move forward. After a life altering events sometimes people need to know they have someone to be there back bone and I was glad i was able to be here for her when she needed that the most.

Jane R.
Mitzi delivered compassionate and patient centered care to patients that had joint replacement surgery, back and brain surgeries, and strokes. She was efficient and always timely. I would highly recommend her and if she were to return to Wisconsin I would rehire her.
April 17, 2017, Mitziel cared for Jane's hidden.
